Revelation 21:8
Ephesians 2:8-9

3 - But God loves us, so He doesn't want us to go to hell.  So, His Son Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.

5 - All we need to do to accept God's forgiveness - to have Jesus's payment applied to our account - is to ask Him to forgive us of our sins and tell Him that we want to give up our sinful way of living and try to follow Him.

Romans 10:9-10
1 John 1:9
2 Corinthians 5:15

Pray a prayer like this:

God, I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again to give me life.  Please forgive me of my sins and live in my heart.  I want to turn from my old way of living and make you the Lord of my life.  Amen.

6 - If you're wondering if it "worked," be assured that it did!  The Bible guarantees it:

Okay, so what now?

Well, salvation is not a "get out of hell free card."  It's all about a relationship with God.  We receive God's salvation not by doing good things, but simply by having faith in Him.  However, allowing Him to change you to become more like Himself automatically flows out of genuine faith.  It will take time, and as long as you live on this earth, you will never be a perfect human being.  But God doesn't care about that - He has forgiven you.  All He wants of you is to genuinely love Him and to follow Him.

If you've accepted Jesus, please feel totally free to contact me via e-mail or by leaving a comment on the blog.  I will be thrilled to answer any questions you may have, as well as help you find a church and an easy-to-understand Bible.  Or, you can find a trusted, dedicated follower of Jesus who you know and ask them to help you with these things.

I look forward to spending eternity with you! :-)
