Now's about the time when some people who started a through-the-Bible-in-a-year plan start to fall a bit behind on it. Even if you're not doing such a plan, but are reading a few books of the Bible at once, this tip will apply to you, too.
Instead of reading a small chunk of each of the "assigned" books each day, you might try mixing it up and reading a large chunk of one of those books and none of the other books one day, do so with a different book the next day, on and on for the whole week. This way, you might find yourself getting more into the stories and understanding context better. Just something to try out and see if it works for you. :-)
