The Grave and the Strategy

Today, I thought I'd share with you two posts from other Christian blogs that I have found particularly interesting lately.

Click on the links (in pink) to visit their posts

"The End" on Jon Acuff's blog "Stuff Christians Like."

This is sort of like a Christian bucket list for living out our calling to the fullest.

I found one line especially powerful:

"Arrive empty to the grave, having given all you were given, stewarded all you were tasked with.  Give the grave only bones."

"Religious Jealousy" on Frank Viola's blog "Beyond Evangelical"

This excerpt from one of his books looks at how all Jesus's enemies hated Him because of jealousy, examines specific tactics they used to attack Him, and applies those to how various Christians have been attacked through history.

I really liked this point of Frank's:

"The religious elite ignored Him as long as they could.  Since Jesus sported no theological degrees and wasn't part of the pastor's guild, they didn't take Him seriously...His influence grew so large that they couldn't ignore Him any longer.  So they must extend to Him the credibility of engagement."

Question for you: How many Christian blogs do you follow?
