Sorry for the lack of mid-week posts this week; I lost track of time. :-P
Bible study tip of the week: Read multiple translations.
For years, I read exclusively the NASB because I prefer a stricly literal translation for Hebrew-Greek studies, but I've recently started using multiple translations in my studies, such as NKJV and ESV. A couple of benefits I've found are: (1) many Hebrew and Greek words do not have a direct English counterpart - so, because translators render these words differently (and often, equally appropriately), you can notice right away that a word has a deeper meaning (which can sometimes affect your entire understanding of the passage) without having to dig super-deep into the original languages. (2) Even when you're reading very carefully, it is sometimes easy to gloss over certain words - so, because the sentence structure changes with translations, it can emphasize words in different ways.
Now for this week's video. I actually ran across this last Christmas, and am thrilled to share it with you now - it makes me feel a very personal connection to Mary and Joseph, which makes the story of Christmas come alive to me rather than being...well, a story.

I loved this video. :) I totally know what you mean about it gives you more of a connection to Mary and Joseph by placing them in today's society, which is so focused on social media. It reminds me how much they had to sacrifice to let Jesus use their lives. Awesome! :)
